Chapter 26 has now been written, previewed by SYoshiko, and submitted to my writers' group. The writers' group on the whole thought is was good, but feel I tend to over-write. Oh well, that's what second drafts are for and it is always easier to cut than to add.

Merreth's early adventures take place in the western plains under a baking sun. Yeah, I know, she wears black leather and would probably cook out there but nothing says BAD ASS like black leather.

Eventually she will return to the eastern provinces of the Matriarchy where winter weather is cold and damp when it's not snowing. SYoshiko has pointed out that Merreth will need something a little warmer to wear than just her customary vest and breeches, so she gifted me this wonderful art:
